Re: ~*~2u2 Tuesday Weekly Check-in~*~

  • What week are you at?  New symptoms? 5 weeks. I'm so fatigued, it's terrible. Yesterday, I could barely keep my eyes open.

What are your plans for telling/preparing LO#1 (or #2 or #3 :)) for the new baby's arrival?  Have you given it any thought? No plans yet, but I'd better start thinking about it!

Have you told family/friends yet?  What kind of responses have you received? We don't plan on telling until after we see the heartbeat. So, no earlier than 8-10 weeks.

Ok ladies one more week down.

What week are you at?  New symptoms?   Week 7, no new symptoms, just a bit more severe m/s although I still haven't thrown up.

What are your plans for telling/preparing LO#1 (or #2 or #3 :)) for the new baby's arrival?  Have you given it any thought?  I haven't given it much thought.  I guess I figure he is so little now that he will never know it any other way so it's not that big of a deal.  But I will probably do something when the time gets closer - getting him a baby doll to help show him to be gentle etc.  But I will insist that there be no 'big brother' presents I don't know why but that bothers me sooooo much.

Have you told family/friends yet?  What kind of responses have you received? We have told the majority of our families, (I still need to tell my sister, just haven't found the time to drive the 30 minutes to see her, and I'd rather not tell her over the phone.)  Most of it has been positive, but with an undertone of "what are you thinking?!?!"  I'm not too surprised by the reactions, but it reminds me that the only proper response is "congratulations!!"

  • What week are you at?  New symptoms?  Just very tired all the time still What are your plans for telling/preparing LO#1 (or #2 or #3 :)) for the new baby's arrival?  Have you given it any thought?she's still pretty little so I hadn't given it much thought. I do point to my belly and and say "baby" and she says it back but I don't think she understands. Have you told family/friends yet?  What kind of responses have you received? We have told our families and our closest friends. For the most part everyone seemed happy for us but it is def a different type than when we said we were having DD. I guess the first is always different.

  • Am I allowed to be here? I don't post in 2u2, but I'm having 2u2.

I'm gonna go ahead and post, and you guys can banish me if necessary. Stick out tongue

What week are you at? New symptoms?

Week 8. I've had new, crazy waves of exhaustion and my sense of smell is now at superhero levels. I haven't been too nauseous, but I've had strong aversions to certain foods and smells.

What are your plans for telling/preparing LO#1 (or #2 or #3 :)) for the new baby's arrival? Have you given it any thought?

Well, DD is only 9 months old. So we've told her, but it's not like she understand it. I'm not really sure what we'll do to prep her. From what I've read, with this age gap, DD will still be too egocentric to really pay much attention to the baby. We'll just do our best to give her the attention she needs and help her feel special.

Have you told family/friends yet? What kind of responses have you received?

We told our families on Easter, which is early, but whatever. My family lives 12 hours away and they were coming down, and we celebrated with my family and DH's together, so it seemed like a good time. Everyone's excited. I think SIL and BIL feel like we're stealing their thunder a little, since they're due in May, but I'm probably just paranoid.

  • What week are you at? New symptoms?
Week 5. Thankfully, no real symptoms yet. I was SUPER sick with DD (10months), so I'm hoping to get off lucky with this one.

What are your plans for telling/preparing LO#1 (or #2 or #3 :)) for the new baby's arrival? Have you given it any thought?
She's only 10 months, so she wouldn't "get it" yet. Hopefully she will in a few more months.

Have you told family/friends yet? What kind of responses have you received?
We have only told a few people. My parents are REALLY excited and said they'd help as much as possible. One of my friends actually gasped and said, "Oh dear..." Ha. Oh well. It wasn't planned, so I guess she was trying to be supportive....? Not sure. We are actually getting really excited now, but are planning to wait until Mother's Day to share with the rest of our family and until June 1st to tell everyone else. (DD will turn 1 in June, so it won't sound as shocking then).

  • What week are you at?  New symptoms?

    8 weeks! No new symptoms

What are your plans for telling/preparing LO#1 (or #2 or #3 :)) for the new baby's arrival?  Have you given it any thought?

DS is only 6 1/2 months old. So as he gets older and can understand a little we will tell him.

Have you told family/friends yet?  What kind of responses have you received?

We've told close family - parents, brothers and sisters. BIL's grad party is next weekend and I highly doubt we'll be able to keep it a secret. DH's family likes to have a good time, which is usually a ton of fun, but that will also make it obvious when I'm not having any drinks. So we'll probably be outed then at almost 10 weeks.

What are your plans for telling/preparing LO#1 (or #2 or #3 :)) for the new baby's arrival?  Have you given it any thought? A is only 11 months so she doesn't understand!

Have you told family/friends yet?  What kind of responses have you received? Our parents and sisters know and they were very excited.

    What week are you at?
    Week 8

    New symptoms?
I felt nauseous the other night, but I think it's because I was hungry

What are your plans for telling/preparing LO#1 (or #2 or #3 :)) for the new baby's arrival?  Have you given it any thought?
He is too little to understand.  The older he gets, the more I'll tell him..I still don't expect him to get it until the baby is here.

Have you told family/friends yet?  What kind of responses have you received?  All close family/friends know.  All of them were very excited, except for H's grandma.  She is a controlling biitch though, and was probably mad that I didn't consult her first.  Her response was "Well, if that's what you want".

  • What week are you at?
    Week 9 (tomorrow)

    New symptoms?
    Nothing new, just exhausted!

What are your plans for telling/preparing LO#1 (or #2 or #3 :)) for the new baby's arrival?  Have you given it any thought?
M is only 10 months old, so we will probably get him a doll or something as time gets closer so he can learn to be gentle.  Other than that, I don't think he will really care.

Have you told family/friends yet?  What kind of responses have you received? Most family knows.  Our parents were pretty excited, but assumed it was an accident although we planned this.  Told our grandparents this past weekend with mixed response.  One of my grandmas has always been pretty negative (she has no filter) but I am fairly good at ignoring her.  Haven't told many friends yet, may start telling in a few weeks.

    New symptoms?
    Just seriously, unbelievably exhausted...

What are your plans for telling/preparing LO#1 (or #2 or #3 :)) for the new baby's arrival?  Have you given it any thought?
    Uh...I don't know.  He'll be 15 1/2 months old, so I don't think there's a whole lot I can do to explain/prepare him.

Have you told family/friends yet?  What kind of responses have you received? We've told family and friends and responses have all been really positive.  I think I expected a little more shock and less excitement, but everyone has been great.

  • Ok ladies one more week down.

What week are you at?  New symptoms? 6 weeks. Still not much in the way of symptoms which has me freaked out daily.

What are your plans for telling/preparing LO#1 (or #2 or #3 :)) for the new baby's arrival?  Have you given it any thought? I think I'm going to have to spend a lot of time working on "gentile" with DS. I can't wait to be able to tell DD because she is going to be so excited to have a new baby.

Have you told family/friends yet?  What kind of responses have you received? I've told my parents, best friend and 1 other close relative. I won't tell anyone else until after 1st tri. So far those 4 people are very excited for us.
