Good Appointment

So I haven't been around much lately, between working, mommying, and the exhaustion I haven't had much time...

Today we saw our little gummy baby!  Measured spot on.  Due date will not change.  

Baby had a heartbeat of 172, and my son went with us to the appt and was so excited to see a baby in mommy's belly.  

We told our parents by having our son tell them he was a big brother.  Everyone is excited.

The only odd part of our appt was next to the sac with the baby was a large empty dark area (large but still only 1/4 the size of the sac with the baby)... the U/S tech didn't say anything about it, but spent several minutes checking and double checking...

Only from being on this site did I think anything of it.  My heart says it was a baby that didn't develop.  Which is fine, but I wish I would stop dwelling on what that was.

    Glad to hear it went well and that everyone is excited. Unless the ultrasound tech or your doctor actually told you there was a loss, it doesnt sound super likely. I know it is hard but try not to dwell on what you cant change. Sounds like your little one is doing great!

    This. The tech was probably just taking measurements. If there's an area of concern, your doctor will let you know.

    I think you ladies are right. The more I thought about it, the more I think they would have said something.  I'm just upset at myself that I didn't ask.  I dwelled on it that night, but realized there was nothing more I could do.  I'll ask at my next appt next week.  I'm just thrilled everything looked okay with this baby.  I have been so nervous.
