Adah was the second women mentioned in the Bible, after Eve. She was Lamech's wife, and thought by Bible scholars to be the woman who brought music & worship into the home.
We want all our children to have Bible names, and we're not a fan of hardly any girl names . We love Sarah, but I have a cousin named that, as well as a close friend.
Re: How would you pronounce this name?
Aid-uh
AID-uh.
Because I passed first grade phonics.
Because I like to pronounce things correctly.

I The Poisonwood Bible.

I have an 80-something-yr-old aunt with this name and that's how she's pronounced it for as long as I can remember.
This.
Aid'duh
A'duh
The same name with an "m" at the end, instead of a "h", is not AID-um.
Cole Joseph 7/05/07
Nora Anne 11/03/12
9lbs, 6oz
Exactly.
I also passed first grade phonics and I would not have known for sure how to say the name because I have not seen it before.
AID-uh is what we're going for, thanks guys.

This. The "h" is silent (and not needed at all, IMO) so it would be pronounced like Ada. (AID-a)
