I think H and I may be lame

We have our names picked out for baby #2.  Well, a girl name for sure.  DS1 is Aaron.  The name we have for a girl is Annabelle.  I really don't want to be the person that follows the same letter for each child, but here I am.  And H apparently wants to be that person because every name he comes up with for a boy starts with an "A".  I told him that wasn't a necessity, but he thinks it is.  Oh boy.

Re: I think H and I may be lame

  • I personally don't think it is lame. BUT if you have a 3rd - stick with the name thing. My siblings both had the same initials RFS - mine was AS - I didn't even get a middle name.

    I disagree with this.

IMO, two is a coincidence, three is a theme.

So, name your baby whatever you'd like to this time, but once you have two As, I'd steer clear for number three.

I can tell you from experience it leaves the third feeling left out.

  • I don't think that is lame at all. Our first girl will be Gillian Annabelle and our first boy would be Garrett Michael.

    To each her own.

Oh good!  Love the middle name :-)

Ahh, I see both sides to this argument, actually.  I think we're done at 2, so hopefully this isn't an issue.

I agree with this unless a theme is what you are going for. I was talking to my sister about this recently b/c my brother and I are J's and my sister is a K, she never felt left out. Also she named her first 2 Alex and Annabel and her 3rd Eliza.

I disagree. My older sister and I are both J names out of coincidence and my younger sister is an A name. Not only does she not feel left out, I think she likes having a different initial.

I don't think it matters if people see a "theme" or not. If u like the name... Go with it!:)
