Is it too early...

to buy a stroller?  The one I like is on sale at Target for $160, regular price $230.    It's pretty neutral colors.  What do y'all think?

The only other things I've bought was a set of white onsies (I had a coupon) and a diaper genie off Craigslist for $10!

If you know that is the stroller you want, and it probably won't go on sale again before you need it, and you don't think you will get it at your shower (if you will be having a shower), then by all means go for it!  That sounds like a great deal!  Oh and as long as you have the extra room to store it.  It's amazing how much space baby stuff takes up!!

DH and I have been looking for stuff already and if you can find good sales like that then I say go for it. And awesome job with the diaper genie for $10!!

My mom has already offered to buy the stroller for us.  I guess I just feel funny buying something so big this early.  Oh well it's pretty nice and in the price range I want.

Thanks, I scooped up that diaper genie as soon as I saw it.  I watch craigslist like a hawk though.  I'll have to stop or we won't have any ideas left for the shower.

H and I have bought a few baby things already, too. Just neutral clothing. We're hitting up a few more thrift stores tomorrow!

Honestly, it's WAY too early.

Just wait until 2nd tri.  Unless you're fine with looking at a stroller after a m/c.  I wasn't even okay looking at my pregnancy journal.  I can't imagine having to come home to a stroller after something like that.

Give it until 12 weeks.  You don't need it until December- it very well may go on sale again.

I'm kind of here.  I haven't suffered a loss, and I know I am paranoid, but I can't even get my head wrapped around buying any baby or maternity things yet and plan to wait until 2nd tri.  I just know it would be heartbreaking to see those things if the unthinkable does happen.

I know which one you are talking about... I seen it and was like SWEET! And then I was like... I still think it is kind of early.

Do what is best for you... Who knows, between now and your 2nd, 3rd trimester, you might find another one you want...

That is a completely personal decision. The insight from both sides seems valuable but in your heart of hearts, it's up to you.

I haven't bought but a couple small neutral things here and there before I got pg b/c I was trying to will pg upon myself (acting on my dreams) but other than that I'm so afraid of jinxing myself (which is ridiculous, I know) that I won't buy anything til the 2nd trimester. GL!

Y'all are right and I think I knew it.  It's too early . I'm such an impulse shopper and I'm a sucker for a deal as you can see! .   I'll wait because I'm sure it'll go on sale again in the next nine months.  Plus my mom didn't seem too concerned with the regular price so perhaps I shouldn't worry too much about price as long as its reasonable.  Thanks ladies for keeping my head level!

   I totally agree with this. My husband and I bought diapers when I was about 11 weeks and now they are in the closet in what will eventually be our nursery. My MIL also bought us diapers and we had various onesies from people. This time around the baby will be lucky to get his or her first item by 20 weeks! seeing those diapers though was a dagger in the heart. But hey its a personal decision, if you arent superstitious or are extremely confident, do it.

I actually recommend waiting to buy a stroller until your LO gets here, but maybe I'm in the minority.  Especially since we are having winter babies.  I made the mistake of buying a very expensive, very nice stroller that we NEVER use because it just didn't work for us.  I wish I had waited until she got here to decide what we needed.  I'd say, get an inexpensive snap and go at first and then see what you really use the stroller for.  You may think you will be using it for certain things but you won't know until the baby gets here.  Just my personal thoughts.

I think you are smart to wait. There will always be good deals, and you can keep track of the items you like so you're completely prepared when the time comes.

Is it the Eddie Bauer one? In Fairview print? SO and I ordered it from the baby sale on target.com. We figured it may be early, but we can always sell it on CL if something happens between now and then. It sounds like the one we got very gender neutral and 160 bucks. I really want the "applesauce" one, but I have a feeling it's a boy.

It's definitely a personal decision, but I'm with this train of thought. It's definitely super early. I personally would rather wait until after the baby is actually born to buy anything, but I know that's not reasonable. There's so much time until December. I will hold out as long as possible.
