Mod Podge users come in!

I want to make some Mother's Day gifts with DS for my mom and MIL (and for myself).  Can mod podge be used to seal paint on canvas?  I've never used it before, but I picked some up at Michael's today (the satin finish kind).  How many layers would you recommend?

Here are the ideas I'm going to try:

I found some tiny 2" canvases that I'm going to put flowers on and turn into magnets:

Re: Mod Podge users come in!

  • I used that during my wedding, but that was my first and last experience, so I have no clue! Seems like it might work?

I really wanted to say I love those ideas and will probably also do the butterflies.

  • Mod Podge makes an acrylic sealer in matte and gloss, maybe satin too, that works beautifully, I use it after I Mod Podge!  Mod Podge itself is water soluable I believe, so I don't think it'd be great to seal per se.  HTH!

  • Hmm...I'd be surprised if it's water soluble. I've used it to seal puzzles and to adhere multiple things to different walls. I'd say it'd work well for your project as long as the paint/ink is dry first.
