So I had my anatomy sonogram today and the tech was unenthusiastic which is fine and at the end of the sonogram she asked if I wanted to know the sex and I said yes and she told me that she isn't 100% positive but she did not see anything between the legs so its probably a girl.
My question is, is this how a typical diagnosis of a girl occurs? Or is there still a chance it will be a boy. I'm happy with a girl, and I know there is always a slight change of it being a boy but I was wondering if you think its fair to be confident that my baby is a girl.
Thanks.
Re: Question about finding out gender
I can't help you, but I've been wondering the same thing.
My MiL is a doctor and always says that there is no way to know for sure it is a girl until delivery, because all they can look for is the absence of a penis, so I'm hoping it is just a way to CYA. I plan on asking my doctor when I go in next (which won't be til June. Grr.)

Yep, this for me too. It was not just the absence of a penis, it was also very distinct three lines.
After we cut our sex revel cake we opened another envelope the ultrasound tech sealed for us at our appointment that had the reveling photo. At the appointment I asked what she was looking for, "Penis, or the absence..." Or possibly ovaries (I heard this was possible)? She said penis or labia. I was surprised they could see that.
We cut the cake, saw pink, opened the envelope and saw little white lines and labia galore. I was SHOCKED how clearly it was a vagina. Like seriously. And I was 19 weeks at the time of our anatomy scan.
I would imagine that earlier than 18 when the vagina has not begun to form it is more of a "Penis or lack there of" sort of thing.
