6w2d, a hb and a kidney stone :)

What a day....I ended up in the ED today because I woke up around 10 am and there was blood on the sheets and an ice pick in my side. I honestly thought I had a tubal that ruptured. Well, the good news is the bleeding was coming from my urethra and not my uterus. No bleeding and a cervix shut tight. Bad news is the bleeding was coming from my urethra. Confused. They did an u/s to rule out a tubal. The tech would not let me see the screen, which sucked. But the doc came back and said they saw a 6w2d pregnancy with a hb of 154. Oh, and a big fat kidney stone. I also cultured positive for a bladder infection. I never did get to see the baby, and I called in sick tonight and am on the couch still hurting, BUT the baby was healthy and measuring ahead so that eases a lot of pain!

  • I'm glad you got a healthy baby and heartbeat report! I'm sorry that you have a kidney stone; I've never had one but it doesn't sound like a fun way to spend a Friday night.  Feel better soon!

  • I've had women patients who say a kidney stone is worse than giving birth so, on the bright side, you've got a jump on it! :P

  • I actually get them only when I'm pregnant. With my oldest, they actually ended up putting stents in my ureters. I would rather give birth to 5 ten pound babies through my nostrils than have kidney stones. It's horrible.

  • I'm glad to hear your baby is doing well, but sorry you're having to deal with all this. I had a friend pregnant with twins that had kidney stones and I know how horrible it was for her. *hugs* Hopefully it gets passed soon!

  • Oh no! (about the kidney stones, obviously). You poor thing. Stones are the worst (as you know). I hope they pass soon and you don't get anymore all pregnancy.

  • Oh my gosh! I am so sorry you had to go through all of that! I had a severe UTI that traveled into my kidneys about 5 days before getting my BFP! I had to go to the ER! They thought I had a kidney stone as well, but luckily I didn't.

I hope it passes soon and you are able to feel back to yourself in no time :)

Yay for a healthy baby, too! <3

  • Yay about the heartbeat but kidney stones suck! I've had 5 surgeries in the past year to clear mine up. Good luck and hope if you do pass the stone is goes quick!
