I have new next door neighbors and my husband and I went out and introduced ourselves when we saw her in the yard. She has a kid named Owen. For some reason, I though the kid was a girl...I think another neighbor told me.
The mom told us the kid's name is Owen. The kid is 6 and was wearing a pretty unisex outfit (jeans + green t-shirt) and had a kind of girly haircut, but could just be a really long boy cut. So both my husband and I were kind of stumped and you obviously can't ask what sex the kid is...so I'm asking you guys...can Owen be a girl's name or is it definitely a boy?
Also here is the funny conversation I had with said kid:
Kid: So you have two kids?
Me: Nope just one. (I'm holding DD and had just introduced her)
Kid: Oh...where is she?
Me: Um...she's right here.
Kid (disappointed - I guess baby =/= kid): How old is she?
Me: Almost 8 months.
Kid: So she's zero.
Me: Yeah, I guess she is.
Re: Can Owen be a girl's name?
I continue to be surprised by the gender that goes with the name so I say anything goes.
"What did my fingers do before they held you? What did my heart do with it's love?"
I know a girl named Michael. It's funny though because she married a Michael. it's confusing on FB because i have to really pay attention to which one actually posted.
