Have you been walked in on???

DH and I were talking about this the other night - have you and your DH or you and another guy - ever been walked in on or you walked in on anyone else?

A while back, my 5 year old walked in on us.  We had the monitors on and she typically is the worlds loudest walker when she gets out of bed but we never heard her - we always just laugh that its a good thing it was not our 4 year old - she never forgets anything and always asks a tons of questions.  My older DD never brought it up.

I didn't share with DH as we don't go there but once my HS boyfriend and I were walked in by his Dad.  Hello embarrassing.  His parents were divorced and his Dad had been out of town for the weekend, supposed to be home the next day but he came home early (no clue why anymore).  We were on the couch in the living room - not doing anything (yet) but enough clothes were off to get the picture.  His dad walked in, saw us and walked right back out after saying something (again no clue what anymore).  I think the worst part of the whole thing was that after we were dressed and let his dad back in, his dad offered us both a beer.  (Yes - HS boyfriends parents were totally hippy types and could care less that we were doing it or if were drinking as long as we were safe - his mom offered to take me to get on the pill and she threw a New Year's party for us senior year - taking all car keys as people walked in the door.

No, thank goodness!  The girls' doors are closed at night so hopefully we would hear them open them, pretty soon I guess we will have to start locking ours.  If my 5 yr DD saw us she would have ALOT of questions and would ask about it for awhile.

In HS there were many times a boyfriend and I could have gotten walked in but I think our parents were too fearful of entering the family room or our rooms when we had eachother over.  My parents never had "the talk" with me and I wish they would have...definately something I am planning for already with my daughters.

  • Yes - in college my sister walked in while DH (then boyfriend) were in a somewhat strange position.

My mom walked in our apartment without knocking once after college and I had to tell her to leave (she was one-room away, but the door to our room was open).

My oldest has walked in on us, but I don't think he saw anything really (covers and nothing odd).

I guess the short answer was, yes.

Two boys already - ages 5 and 3...

  • Yes, once in college by my H's roommate.  It wasn't that bad because they had bunk beds and we were on the top bunk.

Then once in HS by my dad.  It was scarring and I still get a pit in my stomach when I think about it.  I thought MH was going to die.  The sound of him yelling the word vagina is burned into my brain.  That is something you never want to hear!

I think the moral of this story is I need to find more places with door locks...

I keep trying to remind DH that we need to replace the knob on our bedroom door but he keeps giving me the "I don't want to spend money on that right now" reaction..

Yes, DD did walk in on us...  I covered with "Mommy (just has her clothes off) so I can put my jammies on"...  Thankfully the door rubs the carpeting so there was JUST enough time for DH to flip and get under a blanket!!!
