We have extra fencing from an old kennel for our dogs in our backyard-would that be a safety issue?
We have a couple windows that don't open very easily- do we need to replace those?
Carpet is stained from when our dogs were younger - do we need to replace this?
I know we need to replace carpet in moms' closet because old water heater leaked and now we have some mold over there. If we assure them it will be replaced will it still count against us?
We do have some debt that we are trying to pay off will this count against us?
I'm sure I have more questions, just can't think of them right now lol. TIA
Re: Homestudy Questions
These are all questions to ask your social worker. They will be able to look at each situation on a case-by-case basis and let you know if it's a problem and how to fix it if it is.
1. I would remove it if I were you. Your caseworker might not make a big deal out of it, but if it could fall or cut a child it should probably be removed anyway, right? Can you just put it in the garage?
2. If you have one window on each floor that can be easily opened and used as an emergency exit you should be fine.
3. No.
4. Not sure, but our caseworker did not even look in the closets.
5. No. If you can afford your adoption costs you will be fine. We have some debt we are paying off as well, from school.
Ask away! That's what we are here for! :-)

Clomid + IUI#1, #2 = BFN / IUI #3 = ???
Laparoscopy scheduled December 2013
Having conducted a home study before, I would say to just remove the fencing to be safe.
The windows should not be an issue.
Unless you can seriously smell the mold, there is probably no way the worker would even know
As long as you can prove that you are financially stable enough to raise your child, the debt will not count against you.
