Stats for how much more effective baby is than pump?

Now that I'm back to work and pumping more regularly, I can see that with what I pump alone, B would not be getting enough to eat during the day. I know that nursing is more effective at getting the milk out than pumping, but I'm wondering if there are any stats out there about how much more effective?

BFP #1- 4/2011; DD Brynn born 12/2011

BFP #2- 7/13; EDD- 4/2/14; Lost DS at 20 weeks (11/16/13) due to cord accident

BFP #3- 3/14; EDD- 11/28/14; Lost DD at 15 weeks (6/7/14)- cause unknown

To my angels- I held you every second of your lives and I'll love you every second of mine.

  • i think I'm more efficient than getting half.  I usually figure she takes in about 0.5-1 oz more at the most.  I use a medela PIS, but even with my hand pump I can get almost as much as she will take in a bottle.  How many ounces is your little one drinking from a bottle?  Both my babies now have taken about 3.5oz-4 oz total, especially when very young.
