I've been in the infertility world for almost two years now. I have been part of a wonderful RESOLVE support group for women with infertility. One of the women I got close to went through two failed IVF cycles and a couple of losses (including a second trimester one). She finally did IVF with PGD in Colorado last year and got pregnant with a little boy. He was born at the beginning of this month, totally healthy.
I received news on Wednesday night that he had died of a bacterial infection. Totally unrelated to infertility and even more difficult to understand than anything for me right now. She has been through so much loss and I just don't understand why some people get loss on top of loss and others don't get any. And being so sensitive to how it feels to want to have a child and you can't, I'm going through incredible heart ache and pain.
I just want this loss and heartache to go away.
