TTC after 35

39, ttc but nervous

Im 39 and currently trying to conceive but nervous that even if I end up pregnant I may be disappointed. Within the past 10 yrs Ive been pregnant 6 times but all ended up in miscarriages. My specialist is hopeful but how do I not worry about it happening again? All my life I have wanted nothing more than to be a mother, I spent most of my early 20's trying not to get pregnant and when I finally want to, it seems like obstacle after obstacle. So frustrated:(

  • I'm so sorry you've had to experience so many losses (as if one wasn't enough).

Do the doctors have any idea what might be contributing to the losses? Something that hopefully could be treated to help you have a better chance of carrying a baby to term?

    ((hugs))

  • Welcome to the board.  I can't give you any advice since I would be worried too.  I know how you feel about the early 20s.  I wasted a lot of money on bc in college.  I wish that I could get a refund because obviously I did not need any bc.

I've had that thought many times.  Good luck, OP!

  • Thank you. Yes they say I have something called thrombophelia and at one point after needing surgery for a tube removal for an ectopic they told me i had PID which never knew I had nor they would never have found out if they did not do the surgery and found a lot of scar tissue which they then removed most of but my Infertility specialist is confident that I will be able to conceive. Ive had lot of other testing and everything looks good to go. I certainly hope so-the clock is ticking:)
