Streak of pinkish/brown discharge - start of bloody show?

Sorry in advance if these are dumb (and TMI) questions!

I just used the ladies room and found a streak of pinkish/brown discharge in my underwear.  There was nothing else there when I wiped (sorry, TMI!) but this makes me wonder if it could be the start of my mucus plug coming out? I haven't had sex recently and have not had an internal exam in weeks.

I am at work now, and have to teach a class tonight. What do I do if it comes out during my class? Is it going to soak through my pants? Can I get by with a large sanitary napkin? Yuck. I am not exactly savoring the prospect of dealing with this while teaching 20 students!

Or am I overreacting because it turns out to be very normal to have pink/brown discharge well before MP comes out?

Thanks for your input!!

  • Mine came out mostly in one piece, with a little more over the next few days. I'd just wear a panty liner. Mine only ever came out when I was using the restroom or taking a shower, but at least with a liner you don't have to worry as much.

  • mine came out little by little through the day friday (had him saturday night - water didn't break until I was in labor.)  i was wearing a pad so that helped, but the majority of it came when going to the bathroom.

  • Thanks, ladies!

I've had no more discharge since then so I'll keep an eye out, but stop worrying that it's going to happen during class. :)

  • Update... there's been more streaking in my underwear and now I'm having some stomach cramps in my upper/midsection that feel more intense than BH. They're not timeable - it seems like a constant ache, not anything that comes and goes - and I don't have back pain, but I feel a little sick to my stomach.

I know I'm a bit dehydrated and I haven't eaten enough today, but I had a big glass of water an hour ago, followed by a bowl of cereal, and I feel worse, not better. I'm also massively constipated (ugh).
