Does this stuff work? Anyone try it? I still have an inside baby and don't know what my needs are but I thought I should have it on hand just in case so I don't have to wait for Amazon to ship it.
If you tried it, how long did you drink it for? How many cups a day? Did it really increase your supply?
Any specific brand?

Re: Mother's Milk Tea
I read that oatmeal helps as well and plan to try that.
Do you have a good or easy lactation cookie recipe or are they all the same?
This is the recipe I use. I made a batch with coconut and it was really good, someone at group did pumpkin and that was good as well (pumpkin and coconut are also lactogenic). I'm pretty sure I did 3-4 TBSP of the Brewer's yeast.
The recommended "dose" is 4 cookies per day. This recipe makes a lot - about 60-70 cookies - so it can be halved if necessary.
I N G R E D I E N T S
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
4 Tablespoons water
2 Tablespoons flaxseed meal (no substitutions)
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups thick cut oats
1 cup chocolate chips
2 Tablespoons Brewer's Yeast (no substitutions)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.Mix 2 T of flaxseed meal and water, set aside 3-5 minutes. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Stir flaxseed mix into butter mix and add vanilla. Beat until well blended.
Sift together dry ingredients, except oats and choc chips. Add butter mix to dry ingredients. Stir in the oats and then the choc chips. Drop on baking sheet and bake for 8 - 12 minutes
The leftover flax seed meal is delicious in oatmeal (which I hate, but ate daily while nursing!) These are also good and have a lot of the same ingredients as the cookies: https://smashedpeasandcarrots.blogspot.com/2011/08/no-bake-energy-bites-recipe.html
The coconut sounds delish.
How hard was it to find the brewers yeast and flaxseed? Is this something I can pick up at Stop & Shop? I think I can manage 4 cookies a day.
70 cookies is a lot - do they go stale or do you freeze them?
I think it helped me when I went back to work and had to start pumping. I drank 3 or 4 cups a day and also ate oatmeal every morning. I didn't need it when I wasn't pumping/working though. LO's supply/demand needs were enough for that.
If I were you, I would wait to buy any until I was sure I needed it. You can always pick up a box at Whole Foods or something while you wait for your amazons shipment if you do end up needing it.
I got the Brewer's yeast at GNC, the flax seed meal you can get in the natural section of most grocery stores. My husband ate enough of the cookies I never had to freeze any :P
I got mine at our local health food store.
I had MM tea, fenugreek, and lots of oatmeal on hand. Never needed it because my milk came in on day two and I ended up having more than enough.
I'm glad I have it all in case something happens that would cause my supply to dip in the future.
