Did you guys get the comment, "Wow, your incision looks really good" all the time? I kinda figured that they kept saying that to try and make me feel like I was healing well. I felt like they probably told everyone this.
I still don't know what to think of those comments. My doctor was brand new. I was the first c/s she performed at my hospital. She demanded my staples out 24 hours after my c/s ( which for my nurses was unheard of).
I THINK my incision looks good. It's amazingly low and small. But I haven't seen anyone elses to compare.
Like you though, I question. I assume it's normal routine pep talk if everything is going like it should.

I had to laugh out loud to your post. I am a maternity nurse and I say this all the time! You would be surprised at how "not good" an incision can look. Some are long and all puckered up from a bad stitching job. Some are crooked, cut through tattoos and just overall look awful.
lol. My OB told me my c/s incision was healing GREAT and looks ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL at my 1 week and 6 week visits. Then it turned into an ugly dark purple and red nasty keloid. She cut it out this time and we're hoping for a better outcome, but I won't believe her if she tells me it looks good again.
Yes, but I do agree that it looks good. It looks way better than I expected it to look now after 6 weeks than I thought it would ever look. My doctor is really serious about good and careful stitching because, as he said, it's all people see so if it doesn't look good, than everyone thinks he's a crappy surgeon, which is true. He was telling me about incisions that he had seen as a resident where they were so crooked, the linea nigra didn't even line up anymore. Yikes.
My doc said "it looks good" which I meant ok, you're doing great! lol But then I switched to my old OB in the same practice when I got pregnant again at 4 months pp and while during my first exam she said "omg, I could barely find your scar at all! It has healed really, really well in 4 months girl". I actually believed her lol.
"Your incision looks great!" and "You're healing so well!" Every time I got checked at the hospital and at my doctor's office! Good, it wasn't just me...

Yep.
