Just curious if anyone has bought something like the belly bandit or a postpartum belt thing, and if they're necessary and work? Also, what did you wear postpartum?
I had both the Belly Bandit and the Taut, and I much preferred the Taut. The one I like best is actually the Cinch, but it's expensive (I borrowed a friend's). A pair of Spanx works best under clothes - all three are a little bulky for spring/summer fabrics (fine under sweaters, though).
After my first, I bought a few pairs of jeans and shirts two sizes bigger than normal and wore those. I couldn't stand maternity clothes any more. By about 6 weeks pp, I could get back into my regular stuff.
I am wearing the Cinch during the day. It is pretty comfortable, but a bit bulky and shows through my spring clothes. Since I'm pretty much just staying at home and breastfeeding, I live in my nursing bra (Warners, sports bra style), pajama pants and a housecoat. When I go out, I can wear my mat clothes and some of my regular tops. Love yoga pants!
Am thinking of getting some compression underwear / spanx for when I'm not wearing the Cinch.
I have been wearing the belly bandit bamboo since Saturday. It is really comfortable and the support feels so good. I got a medium and it is WAY too big now, so I'm pretty much done with it. My stomach is back to its normal size, just a little softer/less toned looking than I was before, and all of my normal clothes fit. Idk if thats bc of the band or because of how in shape I was before I got pregnant. I am not bleeding anymore though, it only lasted for 6 days. I definitely credit the belly bandit with that because with DD1 i bled for 5 weeks. It's worth the $!
Re: belly bandit and postpartum clothing
I used the Taut's belly wrap (similar to the belly bandit). Yes, it did work!
Postpartum, I just wore regular clothes. I lived in nursing tanks and yoga pants/capris or knit skirts.
