My DS is five months old and we named him Trevin. I have loved the name since we started trying to get pregnant. When I read the name I pronounced it as Trey-vin, but everyone pronounces it trev-in. I looked it up on the computer and it says to pronounce it Trev-in, so should I change the spelling to Treyvin or just keep telling everyone that we pronounce as Trey-vin. I just didn't like the looks of it with the y in it. It makes me so sad that he is going to have to deal with this for his whole life. Stupid pragnancy Brain, maybe it is a good a idea to run your name by people. TIA

Re: Name troubles
I agree with this and maybe I would even consider just saying Trev-in after all.
TTC 10/11. IUI 2/12. BFP 3/8/12. 4/26/12 missed mc. RE consult 5/17/12. IVF #1 ER 7/13/12 53R, 41M ICSIed, 32F, 8 5d, 6 6d blasts - all PGD/frozen. PGD results 1 normal M and 1 normal F, 1 maybe M. FET 9/6, transferred 1 F embie. Beta 9/15 BFN. FET#2 planned for 11/2012 put off until 2013. Surprise BFP 11/21/12!! My son was born on 7/24/13!
I would seriously consider calling him Trevin (rhymes with Devin) like his name is spelled.
Another option would be to change the spelling to Travin. People might pronounce it like it rhymes with Gavin but it's believable with a pronounciation like Tray-vin. I don't see way that Trevin would be pronounced Tray-vin.
Agreed... Trevin is definitely Trev-in... I'd consider calling him that, or if you really like Trey-vin, change it to somehow reflect that pronunciation.
I... I did pronounce it Trev-in, like Kevin or Devin. Sorry! I thought I was doing it right based on the spelling!
I don't know how hard it is to change a baby's name, but yeah, I don't think you're wrong about people making an incorrect assumption about his name in the future. If you were to change the spelling, it would make it easier to figure out the pronunciation.
