Good Meatloaf Recipe?

Looking for a tasty meatloaf recipe.  Everything I find online has peppers etc in it.  I am looking for something more traditional.  Anyone have one?

Re: Good Meatloaf Recipe?

  • i have a recipe in my food blog.. its simple and good.. I dont ever put peppers in mine... hth...
  • I use Adolph's meatloaf mix....for the tomato mixture I add worsetshire (sp) sauce instead of water and mix it in the meat rather than spread it on top.

I cant stand peppers in meatloaf...so freaking gross!

  • This is pretty similiar to the one I use.. I don't use an onion and sometimes I'll use saltines or another cracker if I don't have bread crumbs. I've also made a turkey and sweet potato meatloaf before, I can't find the recipe though.. It's delicious! If I find it, I'll post it too. My mom used to make us mini meatloafs when we were younger and put smily ketchup faces on them. :) That's what I always think of when I think of meatloaf!

    • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
    • 1 egg
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1 cup dried bread crumbs
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
    • 1/3 cup ketchup

    DIRECTIONS

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
    2. In a large bowl, combine the beef, egg, onion, milk and bread OR cracker crumbs. Season with salt and pepper to taste and place in a lightly greased 5x9 inch loaf pan, OR form into a loaf and place in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
    3. In a separate small bowl, combine the brown sugar, mustard and ketchup. Mix well and pour over the meatloaf.
    4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour.
