Need to baby proof the pedestal under washer....

DS2 has gotten into my Oxy clean probably 4 or5 times & I'm tired of cleaning it up & wasting it. Anyone know how to baby proof the drawer without ruining the finish? TIA!

  • Not sure exactly how they work, but would a fridge lock work?

  • How about just a childproof lock on the door handle to the laundry.  That's what we do, along with storing all the detergents on a high shelf.  Honestly, I'd just install whatever kind of childproofing it took without worrying about the finish on a washer.  I would be worried about him getting into chemicals like that.

  • How do the fridge locks attach? We have a child lock on the laundry door but it's always when I'm in the middle of doing the laundry (moving laundry baskets, etc when he does it. I'm literally out of the room a minute or less. The kid is fast! LOL

  • Best baby proofing method, is to remove anything that are in his reach, specially those dangerous chemicals, which can burn out the esophagus if ingested,so I would removing all the chemicals and put them up high or in a lock cabinet some where.
