DD likes art/markers/chalk (has an easel), stickers (already all over the house), band aids, play doh (has a play doh table), dolls, dress-up, her kitchen set, Dora, Elmo (although almost over him) etc. but already has most of these things from gifts/tag sales, etc. -- and my husband spoils her terribly-- I am curious to know what others are getting their 2.5 yr old DDs for Christmas? I saw a big Dora mat with a water marker that might be interesting. Also, a fisher price digital camera. ???
Re: What will you get your 2.5 yr old for xmas>
I know my mom bought the VMotion system for Harley so I'm gonna get him the wonderpets and wallie game probably. Harley is obsessed with Geotrax so we will probably get him more of those too and I know he keeps saying he wants a bike.
We have a mat like your talking about with the water markers its a Wall sized Aquadoodle (they were on sale at amazon.com really cheap at one point) and both the boys LOVE it.
We don't have tons of money or tons of room this year (we live in a tiny rental house that's already pretty packed with stuff), so we'll probably get DS smaller things like books (the boy is obsessed with reading) and sets of blocks since he loves to build things. I would also like to get him some more advanced puzzles since the ones he has are way too simple for him and he really does enjoy puzzles.
We'll probably keep it pretty simple as far as gifts go and try to do something fun together as a family to celebrate the holidays. We're already planning a trip to Philadelphia to meet up with my parents for a long weekend, so that will be a lot of fun for him. His birthday is coming up in less than two weeks and we're taking him to Disneyland for that. He probably won't get any other gifts from us (but my mom is already going crazy buying him things- I hope we have room for it all!).

We've decided to do a "technology-free" Christmas for at least one more year. DD will get a toy doctr kit because she LOVES to play doctor. She might get a battery powered dog that walks around. She will probably get books and art supplies. We are also going to try a couple of easy board games that we can play as a family--we are thinking about Chutes & Ladders and Hi Ho Cherry-O.
