Bath mats shouldn't be this complicated...

We planned to transition DD to 'big girl tub' soon.  I bought a bath mat to go in the tub so she wouldn't slip.  We tried it last night, and the suction cups won't stick to textured tubs.  I returned the mat today and tried to find another option - and they all say 'Not for textured surfaces'.

So what are my options?

  • What about a bath seat?  Or one of those inflatable jobs that you can put the baby into in the big bath?  Or, you can try the non-slip stickers, assuming they stick to texture.  I've done a towel down in the sink, but it tends to float and I'd imagine it wouldn't help much with not sliding (as it'd slide too) in a tub.

  • I just bought a bath mat the other day as well, but prior to that I was using a beach towel on the bottom of the tub. What's funny is that it actually worked better then the bath mat so we may go back to it.

  • I just put a facecloth under her butt. If the tub is textured it shouldn't be slippy anyway.
