Highchair search

We're having highchair difficulties with LO.  I said I'd get one of those that sits in a dining chair to save space.  But my sister gave me hers and I've found that I love how it rolls, but that's about it.  The tray is so high that DD can't reach anything on it anyway.  If we use the tray I have to put a towel under her butt.  I kinda want something that will sit at the regular table but she's still too wobbly for the restaurant style chairs.  Have any suggestions for something that will transition from her being small to sitting at the table?

We love our keekaroo - the infant insert works well now and then we can take that out and just have a nice looking wooden chair.

  • We just purchased a very basic highchair from Ikea.  It is the perfect height to just pull right up to our table, or we can use a tray attachment. It is a nice small size and you can also purchase a cozy insert if your little one is on the smaller side.

  • We have a Fisher Price Space Saver, which is the kind that attaches to a regular kitchen chair.  It says that it works well for infants, because of how it reclines, and then down the road, it'll come apart into a regular booster seat.  We use it all the time without the tray, so DD can just sit with us.  We put the tray on when we're feeding her.  We have a small house, and the regular, free-standing high chair was just way too big.  This is a million times better.

This. I love our Ikea high chair and the little insert was perfect to help him sit when he was still a little wobbley. It doesn't take up a lot of space and is so easy to wipe down!

Totally agree. The ikea antilop high chair is so simple and great.

  • We had an FP space saver chair and DD disliked it. She was not comfortable in the at all. We got a stokke to replace it. I like that we can use it down the line as a regular chair.

  • I agree as well. We got this high chair and its only $20!! Plus its really easy to clean.
  • Sorry.. I thought I quoted the other replies. I was talking about the Ikea Antilop high chair. We bought the insert as well since baby was only 5 months when we got it.
  • We started off with the Chicco but I didn't like it because DS couldn't fit close to the table with us. Then we switched to the Stokke Tripp Trapp with the baby set attachment. Its perfect ... he comes right up to the table and its SOOOO easy to clean. Its kinda skinny and the straps didn't hold him in well at first because of their placement but around the end of his 6th month it ended up fitting him perfect.
