Ugh, yuck to both. Aidan or Aiden is the proper way to spell it, but do you seriously want to give your DS a name that is THAT popular?

SOME name will always be at the top of the list. And if you think about it, popular is really just well-liked. It's fine to avoid names just because lots of other people like the name too, but it's also okay not to.
Going to try to reply to all questions in 1 post ^_^
1) Boy (1st child is another boy named Dylan; we're not trying to do similar names, actually trying to not factor in DS1's name at all so that we don't rule out a name we like)
2) Don't care about how popular the name is. We pick names WE like, who cares if it's popular or not?
3) We're going with the "den" at the end because we prefer the nickname Den or Denny over Dan or Danny.
4) Ayden is listed in our baby name book, not as a different spelling under Aidan but as a separate name (same meaning & all). Same with Aiden & Aydin. DH just liked the Ayden spelling more than Aiden.
