Good Monday Morning Ladies!

MH and I shared our news with my parents and his parents/siblings this weekend. We did the same thing for each of them--

I brought a present (one was for my dad's birthday, which was recently, and one was for our niece on MH's side). When they opened the box, three baby-themed balloons popped out. One balloon said, "It's a girl," one said, "it's a boy," and one was a generic baby balloon. I put ???s on the "it's a ____" balloons and then wrote, "coming in December" on the generic balloon.

When my dad opened it my parents were both initially impressed that balloons popped out of the box, then my mom said, "It's a....are you pregnant?!" They were both thrilled! It was really fun!

When my niece opened the gift, again, everyone was initially impressed with the balloons popping out of the box. It was a larger group, so it took them a little longer to get it--they thought we brought our niece Easter balloons (since Easter colors and baby colors are the same). Eventually my MIL and SIL figured it out. My MIL had the greatest shocked face and asked if I am pregnant and, at the same time, my SIL said, "Wait...coming in December?!" It was awesome. They were all very excited, too!

We got both reactions on video, too, so I've been having fun watching their reactions this weekend!

We plan to keep the news quiet from other people until around the end of the 1st tri. I *think* our families will be respectful and keep the news to themselves until we are ready. I am fairly certain they won't share with the entire family.

How cute! I hope your families are respectful of you wanting to keep it private for a while. I won't be telling my dad until we are ready to tell everyone. I had told him a few things a couple of months ago and asked him to keep them between us, and he was too excited I guess and shared some news... (just about our move, but it was the fact that he isn't really good at the secret keeping.)
