dipping baby shoes? bronze, silver, porcelain, other?

Anyone planning on having their baby's shoes dipped? If so, where are you ordering from and what metal (or other substance) will you have them dipped in? DH mentioned today he would like for us to do this, but it's not something I was planning to do so I have no clue where to look. 

Also for the STMs, what type of shoe did you use? A traditional shoe or a more "fun" shoe? DH is really into basketball so he liked the idea of using a baby "Air Jordan" shoe. Not sure yet how I feel about that one since it's not very traditional.

I had an aunt who is super crafty and she taught us how to do so when I was younger but I don't remember how. I may have to go pick her brain again to do baby's.
