DH is sleeping!

Am I the only one that gets irked to see her DH sleep??? I come home--after I've been running errands with a snot faced cranky baby all day, and I find DH taking a nap, granted he gets up at 6 and goes down around midnight, wakes up in the middle of the night whenever DS wakes up, has been working all day...yada yada but it still bothers me...oh AND he is the type to be asleep after 10 seconds of laying down! Grrr...

Vent over, thank you.

  • I have been getting irked with DH being able to go to bed earlier than me at night. I get up at 5:30 every morning Monday-Friday and every other Saturday. I work all day, pick up the kids, make supper (he helps), clean up after supper, give baths, then it's bedtime for the girls. DH gets to sleep until 7 every morning, and still manages to get to bed earlier than me every night, because I'm putting our oldest to bed, or doing laundry, etc. But then there's what the PP said, I have to try to put that behind me and consider myself lucky that he's here. I don't know what I would do without him, either!

  • I never see my husband because we work opposite shifts. I would be happy if he was at home sleeping right now.

  • I know it could be worse. I'd hate to have him away, I'm not really complaining about him per se, it's more like I'm envious of how care free men can be! I'm always thinking of what needs to be done around the house, for the baby, the dogs...and I never allow myself a nap,  and I'm envious of how fast he can fall asleep! Me, I toss and turn (actually I can't even move because I'm sandwiched between DS and DH) while he's snoring after only seconds, seconds!

No one said we don't appreciate our husbands.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say despite the fact that your husband isn't around 24/7, when he is, he probably does something that irritates you.

to be totally honest. I don't really vent about him because we don't get much time together...

and I never said the original poster didn't appreciate her husband.

  • I'm slowly coming to accept the new balance of chores and responsibilities in our house.  It feels out of whack but there are also things that are important to me (tidiness, etc.) that just don't even hit his radar.  If I want certain things a certain way, I'm just going to have to do them myself or let go and let God.

That doesn't mean I don't want to kick him in the shins at least once a day.

  • I love DH but it is hard to not get irritated when he sleeps almost 12 hours straight takes an hour nap in the afternoon and by 5pm is complaining he is tired. While I go days with only a few hours sleep at a time and can't remember the last time I was able to take a nap.
