I just found out mine didn't either. I talked to the Pharmacist and he recommended taking iron supplements with the vitamins. I take the vita fusion prenatals since everything else makes me nauseous.

I do not tolerate iron in supplement form very well. It actualll makes a lot of people nauseous. I haven't started taking it yet, but when I do, I will take one of the "gentle" iron supplements. A lot of brands make them, it comes in a smaller dose and is supposed to be easier to digest formula. I think the idea with the smaller dose is that you can either take less, like if you don't need as much iron as comes in the larger dose. And you can spread out the pills over a longer time.

I have to take extra Iron since I am super anemic, so I get a prescription iron on top of my prenatal, however, before that I took Slow FE and I found it to be pretty tolerable and it didn't bother my stomach that much! My RE also told me taking Iron along with Vitamin C helps it absorb better, so I got some Vitamin C supplements as well, though I guess you could take the Slow FE with OJ.

I would ask your doctor to check your iron levels and let you know how much you need - high or low dose. My understanding is that there isn't iron in some PNVs because not everyone needs the same amount.

I take Floradix - recommended by my acupuncturist and my midwife because it is better absorbed than the pills and does not cause constipation.
