1st Trimester

ER visit

Was having some cramping Monday night and Tuesday morning that kept me up all night long. This is my second pregnancy so I guessed it was just ligament stretching and didn't think much of it, but my DH was freaking out and so to make him feel better I called the OB (whom I have not even seen yet). She told me to go to the ER. So I did. I had a resident doctor who openly admitted to knowing nothing about pregnancies, but did my blood work and urine test. He told me both came back positive, but they wanted to check on the fetus to make sure it was doing okay. They did two ultrasounds (outside and inside) and then the doctor told me he wasn't able to locate anything. At which point he did a pelvic exam (with a doctor knowledgeable with pregnancies) and told me that I had not miscarried and that my uterus showed obvious signs of pregnancy. He was so confused that he actually freaked me out.

After I left the ER the OB called, however, and explained that my HcG levels were at 950 and that they don't expect to see anything until 1500. I have to go back in two days to make sure those levels are higher because the edd they put me at should've put me far enough along to be able to see the fetus. Should I be worried or have any of you experienced something similar? Could they have messed up my edd? My last AF started on Feb 24, but that doesn't mean I ovulated "normally" I suppose. Just looking for a little reassurance to get me through these next 24-48 hours.
