Babies: 0 - 3 Months

What's on her face??

When DD was born her nose had lots of bumps on it...it still does. They look like little whiteheads. I am guessing it is just baby acne. But, now around her eyebrows it all scaly and flaky. And she has bumps all over her cheeks. Her skin feels like sandpaper. :( Is this normal baby skin stuff?? It doesn't seem to bother her.

  • DS had that too- ended up being cradle cap. He still has a little, but it's really mild now.

  • OMG!  My baby has the exact same things like you described on her face...all of it!  Today I gently used my finger nail to scratch the scaley skin on her eyebrows and it peeled off easily and she didn't seem to mind.  But the bumps on her face I was told to just leave alone and they'd go away, but they bug me too!

  • The whiteheads are milia and they will go away with time.  It took my DS ~ 2.5 mths to get rid of them.

The sand paper feeling is probably an extension of cradle cap.  DS had it and it will go away on its own but we washed his hair with selsun blue and noticed his face started clearing up also.

    GL!

  • DD started out like that and it became cradle cap - her whole scalp was a flaky gross mess. Baby oil +  baby hairbrush works wonders, I used baby oil on q tips for her eyebrows.
As far  as the dry skin on her face mine has that as well and I just use cortizone if it becomes red and rashy, otherwise I leave it alone.
