Lesson Learned Today

My DH & BRU do NOT mix!  He got kind of mean while we were there and that is NO like him at all!  I had registered online for everything and wanted to look at it in the store to make sure the stuff I picked was nice.  You know it could be a POS in the store right?  I told him ahead of time what I wanted to do.  The longer we were there the more agitated he was getting so finally I just said let's go.  We get in the car and he said something about how this whole process is a PITA and the rest of our lives were going to be like that. (he didn't mean it the way he said it....we talked about it later)  I was really hurt.  About 30 minutes after we were out of there he was back to his normal cheerful self....while I was still hurt from him being a grouch!  Needless to say....I'll never take him there ever again!  lol

Yeah... My DH hated registering, but not as much as he hated shopping for nursery furniture.  We got in a couple of fights about that...  He wasn't at all interested and would be so cranky and uninterested when we would go look and then I would be like 'don't you care about the baby?'.  My hormonal self brought on way more drama than necessary, but it did hurt my feelings when he was so grumpy.  Of course, we talked about it and all was well, but it was still a little annoying.

DH and I got in a fight in the stroller aisle (he didn't think we needed to register for a stroller because someone had recently given us a used one - whatever, I registered for 3 and got them all, ha ha!) so we were speaking to each other in loud, nasty whispers when all of a sudden this other couple popped up out of nowhere - they had been kneeling down looking at another stroller in the aisle right next to us.  They looked like pregnant Barbie and perfect husband Ken.  I was mortified and stormed away and burst into tears.  Ridiculous.

BRU is like wedding planning - they dont really care. DH hates going in there, so I dont force him anymore. And he says that there is too much estrogen in that place.

I'm sorry about your experience!  I'm not looking forward to registering b/c DH has no patience whatsoever with anything shopping-related - he always tries to rush through - and always gets grumpy.  I think I will be annoyed with him about that when we register and shop.  In all fairness to the DH's, I do think BRU is a place designed to aggravate - whenever I've gone in there for shower gifts it's always been super-crowded and I can never find what I'm looking for and there is never anyone to help.  In all honesty, I think the store s*cks.
