I had a follicle check last Tuesday and the largest was 10mm (this was CD 12) so they told me to come back on Friday. On Friday they were... still 10mm!! (CD 15)
I took Clomid CD 4-9, and I typically ovulate late - like CD 21 - but not when I'm on Clomid. They told me do the at home ovulation tests for the rest of this cycle. My assumption is that it is due to stress... I have to drive two hours to my RE's office, and had to go without my hubby both times. I also had to be there between 730-830am - so I had really crappy sleep too. I'm on CD 18 now and still no surge detected. She wants to double my dose of Clomid next cycle to 100mg - not looking forward to that!
The crazy thing is, I have never had this happen before - there was always some growth between scans. I'm just really hoping this cycle isn't a bust!!!
Anyone else use Clomid and not have growth/ovulate?
Re: On Clomid - Had ZERO follicle growth over three days!??
Yep... Clomid was a big old joke for me. Might as well have eaten a packet of tic-tacs. I was even on the highest dose that they give and NADA.
My RE decided to try the drug Femara and it grew one little 22mm follicle. Our IUI wasn't successful, but I DID ovulate the one cycle we used it for. We just started another cycle a few days ago, and we'll try the Femara again.
I see that you're military as well. My hubs is AD Navy right now and I know exactly how much it blows to have to do so many steps of this process A.L.O.N.E.
Let me know if you need to vent about all things Tricare... cause IF isn't enough of a challenge :0)

I'm sorry you're having trouble with clomid. It's definitely not for everyone so your increased dose next month might give you the results you're looking for.
I just wanted to say that you shouldn't stress about your stress. The stress you described is not anything that should affect your fertility or follicle growth rate/ovulation. You're doing fine, you just might need to try a few different meds.
Good Luck!

I, too, never responded well to Clomid or Femara -- lots of minimal, little follicles each time. I think I maybe ovulated once or twice over the course of six cycles (waste of time!). Lol.
My RE said to just do the at home OPK and to start doing the progesterone suppositories 4 days after I get a surge - and to call and let them know.We were going to do Ovidrel but since my follicles weren't progressing they didn't want to have me keep coming in for scans I think - so it's a-la-naturale this month!
Good news though - I got a surge today!!!
I read on some other forums to do the OPK's at noon instead of fmu - I guess because it usually spikes mid-day. Anyway, I got a smiley face today at noon!!
On CD 20, so apparently the Clomid didn't really do a thing since this is when I usually ovulate.
The only thing I'm worried about is that my hubby hasn't felt well the last couple days, so no BD'ing in 3 days! I was a little upset that he wouldn't just bite the bullet and BD last night - I mean, I've done it plenty of times when I didn't feel well lol. So hoping we didn't miss the window.. I'll catch him when he gets home!!!
UGH! Yeh it is super frustrating because you are at the mercy of your own body, and what the doctor tells you most of the time! I hope things get better for you too!!!
LOL - maybe we should just try tic-tacs instead!!
Yep - I'm an Army wife! It sucks when he has training and can't go with me, or when he's been out in the field all day (like this week) and we need to be doing the deed, and he doesn't feel up to it. (no pun intended hehe) *sigh*
I will have to check into the Femara if this cycle doesn't work out. Good luck to you!!! And same here - if you need to vent!! Some days it's like "Oh you have too much on your plate... well get a bigger plate!" Argh!
Thanks so much for the encouragement! I try not to stress... this week has been much better! Fingers crossed we won't have to keep doing all this for much longer.. Good luck to you as well!
Bummer! What is up with our slow eggs!?? I am surprised your RE gave up on CD 16 - some ppl, like myself, ovulate late! But at least the injections are working!! YAY!
I see you have Factor V as well - do you have the heterozygous or homozygous? Mine is heterozygous, so it isn't as severe, but I'll still have to do Lovenox when I get pregnant. Do they have you on it all the time? I just take baby aspirin until we are preggo, then will do the Lovenox. I'm pretty nervous about it though... but gotta do what we gotta do!
