CVS Test? Who has had this done?

Hi Guys,

 Has anyone had the CVS test, either with this pregnancy, and/or another?

I met with a genetic counselor today (as I am 35) and she described this test to me, and how if I want to do it, I would have to have it done in the next week.

To piggy back on the CVS, did you also get an amnio and/or have one or the other?

I actually had a CVS last week.  I had it done because of a high amount of liquid behind my babys neck at our NT scan.  They put me at high risk and rushed me off to a genetics counselor.  That was super scary!!  Anyways I personally did not think that the CVS hurt it was just uncomfortable.  First we did an ultasound to look at the baby and they took some measurements. Then they gave me a shot of anesthetic into my uterus.  The doc said it would sting but to me it just felt uncomfortable. I could definitely feel the needle though.  After that he stuck a bigger needle into my abdomen that went into my uterus.  Then he pumped it a few times to get the sample of placenta.  I also didn't think it hurt just felt weird.  It was a little scary but the whole thing only took a couple mins... Mine was done through the abdomen but sometimes they do it through the vagina. One good thing out of this experiance is I found out I'm having a Boy!!!
