Dos anyone's LO have one? What were the symptoms that led up to the diagnosis? My DD spits up excessively, and at her 6 month checkup we discovered her weight gain has slowed way down. Our pedi recommended thickening her expressed milk with rice cereal... This hasn't seemed to help her keep much more down so I'm beginning to wonder if she might have a sensitivity. Anyone have any experience with this?
Re: Milk protein sensitivity
My DD2 has milk, soy protein intolerance. Her symptoms were insane gas and green mucousy poop sometimes with specks of blood in it. I've been dairy and soy free now for almost 6 weeks and her poop is normal now.
My DD's also have reflux. DD1 is on Zantac, DD2 is on Prilosec. Your LO's symptoms sounds more like reflux.
ETA: If your LO is a "happy spitter" the pedi probably won't prescribe anything. If LO is becoming more active - trying to crawl/crawling, slowed weight gain is normal. My DD's need medication b/c they were in pain from their reflux and would sometimes refuse to nurse because of it. They would scream and arch their backs and were just miserable.
DD1: allergic to eggs & dairy
c/p 4/1/11
DD2: milk and soy protein intolerant, allergic to eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, bananas

This. Same my LO. Cutting out things with even the smallest spec of dairy made it stop.
