Why'd I wait so long...to do something for me?

Hey ladies,

I hope you all are having a great weekend so far. The weather couldn't be better, 87 yesterday. Yesterday we got our windows installed in the living room $80 total so exciting after 3 years that DH's dad said he would do it, the old ones were painted shut!

Secondly, a new friend of mine moved here (NE) from Michigan as a master hairstylist. After she found out about our IF trouble she wanted to give me a hair cut, I didn't realize this meant low lights of a burgundy and high lights and the most amazing hair cut I've ever had in my life!!!

DH and you ladies always say to do something nice for yourself if your feeling down...I wish I wouldn't of waited so long. I got my pep back. Along with starting a new job in 3 weeks with lots more benefits...my smile is back :)

TTC since November 08 IUI #1-BFN March 1, 2012 Saving Break will try IUI #2 in August 1/2012-S/A wash-count low 3 million 12/30/11 Luminarium(seaweed) stuck in cervix was suppose to "naturally" open it. Surgery for retrival. 12/7/11 Met with Dr. Dougherty new RE-more testing 2/11 Decided to take a year off to save for a new RE 1/11 Cycle day 4 a/s 15mm cyst left Ovary 1 follicle left over no meds this month. 12/10 Cycle Clomid-O'd Progestrone Dostinex =BFN 11/10 HSG-ALL CLEAR & S/A-Adequate 10/10 Cycle- Progestrone and Clomid-O'd=bfn 11/09 lap-removed a lot of scar tissue/endo =not so much cramps during AF ;) 2006 Appendectomy-cyst burst on right ovary =scar tissue 2005 abnormal cells-biopsy and cells removed=scar tissue

    Congrats!  I know exactly what you mean about feeling awesome after a little pampering.  And great deal on the windows.  That's amazing.

     DH said, "now when you're feeling down will you get out and do something for yourself instead of engrossing yourself in cleaning and being upset".

    I'm so glad you got your smile back! It can be so hard to remain positive and not dwell on all the bad stuff.......I am happy you are feeling good! Good luck with your new job and enjoy your new haircut!

    I feel the same way.  I finally let myself buy two new shirts the other day (which I almost never do) and it was wonderful to feel cute and hip instead of wearing the same old clothes (some of which sadly I've owned for 8 years, yikes!).  And every compliment I got while wearing one of them on Friday was like an added boost of "I did the right think by treating myself".

    I don't recommend retail therapy often because it can be bad for the wallet, but a little something now and then is much needed!!

    I bet your haircut and high & low lights looks adorable and chic!  Enjoy it!

    Must be that time of year! My DH made me get out of the house today so I went to see a movie, and got my hair done! I never to anything for me and even felt guilty at first. Then after, I loved my new hair so much I decided I also waited to long!

    Yay to taking time for ourselves!

    Thanks everyone! I updated my avatar so you could see...earlier it looked like a sort of mullet now much cutier :) and I almost feel sexy bc of the colors.

    KatiB-retail therapy is dangerous but I'm glad you treated yourself to a couple shirts. I need to learn to try on the shirts that I do buy so that I don't have to take them back after being so excited about them.

    I'm glad to hear that some of you also got to get out of the house and treat yourself :)
