Question for ladies on progest. suppositories.....

Hi Everyone!

I apologize if this has been asked before.....

I hope you are all having a good weekend! I have my ET tomorrow and forgot to ask this question to the nurse. If you were taking progestorone suppositories did you put them in the morning of transfer? I take prometrium, 2 pills in the am and 2 in the pm. They are FUN! Huh? I usually put new ones in around 10 am and 10 pm and ET is at 9:45 so I don't know if I should just wait until I get home.  I guess I am just worried about the capsules and its lovely contents getting in the way... was that an issue for anyone?

    Excellent question - although I don't know the answer.
    Would love to hear what you find out either on the board or from the clinic.

    Mine said if I had an early ET to do it after b/c something about the media they put in there washing it all away (insert Charlie Brown parent talk here b/c I stopped listenting) b/c I am scheduled for 1 so I am supposed to in the am myself.

    IF Dx: Endo, hetero MTHFR mutation, poor morphology
    #1 IUI: 1/18/12 = BFN
    #1 IVF/ICSI 4/2/12 = 2 x 7-cell and 1 x 5-cell transferred (3dt) = BFP!!
    H was born at 41w2d on 12/29/12 - be still my heart!
    #2 IVF/ICSI 1/19/14 = 2 x 8 cells transferred (3dt) = BFP!! EDD 10/09/14
    M&W born at 37 weeks on 9/18/14 - I am the momma of 3 boys!!!

    I was specifically told NOT to take them before transfer but to bring them with me and apply them after.
    TTC #1 Since 4/2010, Cycle 30
    Positive for HLA-B27, I'm a mutant :p
    Testing - Me ok, gluten issue? DH - borderline count, low motility
    4/28/11 IUI#1 = BFP!(5/25), EDD 2/2/12 - m/c 5w3d
    7/3, 7/31, 9/25 - IUI#2-4=BFN
    IVF#1 - 1 blast = BFP!! (12/30), EDD 9/9/12, confirmed c/p 4w2d
    FET#1 3/2/12 - 2 blasts =BFP!! EDD 11/18/12, us#1 = twins! Confirmed m/c 5w6d
    4/20-surprise BFP and another c/p 4w2d
    FET#2 7/16/12 - 2 blasts = BFN
    FET#3 8/20/12 - 1 blast - BFP!! Beta #1-2=177, 354
    1st u/s 5w6d, one beautiful little HB :), 2nd u/s 146bpm
    baby girl born 5/10/13

    TTC#2 since 12/17/2014, Cycle 8
    Repeat Testing...FSH=12, AMH=3.8, AFC=28. 
    IUI#5 5/10/15- c/p?
    IVF#2 8/19/15 - cancelled due to cysts
    IVF#2 take two 10/2015 - 5 blasts frozen
    FET#4 12/11/2015 - BFN - 4 blasts remaining
    FET#5 2/18/16 - BFP!!!  Beta1-3, 126, 250, 745!!

    What time was yours? I take mine at 6am and they said that was fine.

    I usually take them 3x's per day as close to 8 hours apart as possible.  On the day of ET, I had to be at the hospital at 6:30 for a 7:30 transfer, and I was instructed to wait and take the morning dose when I got home and take them approximately 6 hours apart that day.

    Thanks everyone!! I am trying not to be judgy because my clinic has been awesome so far but I did wind up calling and the nurse told me to ask the embryologist when she calls so I did and she told me to ask the nurse Indifferent

    Could I seriously be the first person who actually asked them this?? Maybe everyone else just took them like they were supposed to and never questioned it??

    Oh geez - that sounds like fun. There are just so many little things I don't know how we are supposed to get them all 100% right.

    They will most likely clean you out before they transfer so it shouldn't hurt to use one??? If it's in the morning maybe you could just bring it with you and ask there?? Sorry I am not very helpful.  
    TTC since June 2011
    DH diagnosed with Testicular Cancer 8/2010
    Low sperm count. Only option IVF with ICSI
    Starting First cycle Jan/Feb 2012- Canceled due to not responding to BCP and/or Lupron
    IVF 1.2- stims March 14, ER March 24, 16 R 10F 6 made it to blast
    ET March 29- transferred two blasts, 4A and 4BA, froze 4
    Positive HPT 9dp5dt Beta 1- 385 11dp5dt
    u/s April 25- one healthy heartbeat
    EDD 12/12/12>

    That is very helpful actually! I was pretty sure they would clean me like they did before the catheter for my saline sonogram so Im glad to hear they did for you.... I have to be there at 9:45 so I am swaying between taking it a little early or bringing them with me and asking...

    I was told not to take mine the morning of my transfer. I took it when I got home.
