Does anyone have a preference on roman shades versus slat blinds (with a valance or curtain) in their nursery? Roman shades would save the step of blinds + a curtain but they don't allow you to control the amount of light in the room like slat blinds would. Any thoughts? PBK has some cute roman shades right now :-)
Slat blinds have strings that can be dangerous for the baby if they play with it. Maybe I am a worry wort, but I am using rolling shades with a valance.

We have blackout/lined roman shades. You can't adjust light like you can with blinds, but you can pull it open just a little if all you want is a little light. mine are a dark color so it keeps the room pretty dark during the day. They also help control the temperature in the room - keeping out the cold and when it's warm and sunny, keeping the room cool.
We're using cordless room-darkening cellular shades, with sheer curtains on top. We have the same kind of shades in our family room, and they're awesome.
