TTC After a Loss

RPL testing results FINALLY

Well I finally got my testing results in after harrassing my doctors thursday and Friday Wink. My doctor called yesterday afternoon so I was so thankful to know before the weekend. She said all of my results came back normal which I am incredibly thankful for. My mom has a ton of autoimmune diseases and so does my sister so I thought for sure something would come back off.

She did say that I one marker? for MTHR gene but that most people do and she would only be conerned if I had two (I think I am remembering that right but I was in the car at the time so I'm a little fuzzy). She wants me to continue the baby asprin though because as she said there is still so much we don't know about m/c and loss. I may have something  "wrong" that they just haven't studied enough. There is research that mothers have successfully carried babies after multiple losses with the aide of blood thinners even if their blood work came back alright.

My doctor is great and apologized for the delay in getting back to me. She said she understands that I won't be relaxed until she puts that baby in my arms. I almost told her about me seeing her at BRU and wanting to hunt her down for my results but I think I'll wait to tell her that story Stick out tongue.

The best news is that we are cleared TTC (even though I am scared sh!tless about doing so).

That's great new! Doesn't it feel good to have one more thing checked off? Have fun humping it out this cycle!

  • That's great news.  I had your exact results...all was normal, but I tested positive for one MTHR gene, but not the other.  My MFM said that two would be an issue, but one is quite common.  Like you, I am happy to be given the go ahead, but still pretty nervous that nothing was identified that could be fixed.  Guess we'll just be both hoping for the best next time!

Yes, it does. However, it is bittersweet. I kind of wanted some answers but I guess no news is good news.

I'm glad we're in it together along with the other multiple loss ladies. It is certainly bittersweet and while I am thrilled to not have anything "wrong" I am terrified of trying again.

  • That's great that you were cleared for TTC again.  I completely get being scared also.  You can allow yourself to feel the fear about but try to let the anticipation and hope of your take-home baby outweigh the fear of getting there.  We all understand that feeling though, for sure.  Sending hugs!
