I have had 2 LEEPS! I was terrified what that meant for being prego! They basically told me we are at an increased risk incompetent cervix! They will start keeping a closer eye on your cervix as you get further along to make sure. Its just a higher risk of miscarriage in second trimester due to being able to dilate without knowing. rest assured its VERY rare and I have had 2! So you are good im sure just let your MD know your concerns!
Happy Prego! Im 8 weeks today and got to see that heart beat today!! SO amazing!
I had a LEEP in '05 (I think) and got pg for the first time in '09. I had no problems with dilating prematurely. I actually never dilated at all even with pitocin and ended up with a c/s due to DS not tolerating labor well and they lost his HB a couple times.
That being said another effect of having a LEEP is scaring which causes you not to be able to dilate. I don't think that's what my problem was but it could've been... My OB at the time knew that I didn't have kids and took the smallest amount possible so as not to cause problems in future pregnancies. It depends on how much they took from you.
They'll probably just keep an eye on things but the doc who did your LEEP should've gone over all of that with you when they did it. If you dilate early they can put a stich in your cervix to close it and if it's bad enough you'll be either put on bedrest or modified bedrest. But those I think are extreme cases.
As PP said, it can cause you to dialate early or cause you to not dialate at all.
My sister had a LEEP procedure a few years before her first child was born. Her Dr. was sort of incompetent & let her labor for a good 15 hours before he realized that the reason she wasn't dialating was her scar tissue. Once he did what's called a rough exam to stretch out the scar tissue, she dialated quickly and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She had a 2nd baby two years later & had no issues what so ever because of the LEEP.

My friend had a leep and got pregnant the next month. She, baby, and cervix are all doing great.
