Tenderness in one spot on my inner thigh

Hi all,

I am new to these boards- just found out Im pregnant! Im 5 weeks!   This morning I noticed that I have a tender spot on my inner thigh. Sometimes when I sit too long I feel it. I am, of course, terrified that it could be deep vein thrombosis or something like that. However, I wanted to ask on here if anyone else has experienced this? Many thanks.

  • I have never experienced this , but maybe it is a swollen gland. Very early in my pregnancy I always felt like sick. Ask your doc though--Congrats on your pregnancy!

  • I've actually had a DVT but in my calf and it wasn't so much a tender spot as a pain deep in the middle of my calf.  It felt sort of like a charlie horse but the pain didn't go away.  The pain from a DVT will be worse when you flex your ankle/foot upward and you may or may not have redness and your skin could be warmer than normal (I did not have either of those but it hurt like heck for me to go up and down stairs or drive a car because of the pain from flexing my foot.)

Although you are at a greater risk of developing a clot while pregnant and immediately following pregnancy, chances are what you have isn't a clot.  You can always call your doctor though and ask them to ultrasound your leg just to be certain.

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  • If it's your thigh/groin area where your thigh meets your hip, it may be a swollen lymph node.  I have one that is constantly swollen there- especially during allergy season or any time my immune system is lower (pregnancy...lol)

If it's actually your thigh or leg, it could be that you hit yourself and don't remember and it hasn't bruised yet maybe?  I do it all the time on my desk and sometimes it takes a few days for a bruise to appear.

I had a clot in my leg due to Ortho Try Cyclen Low and it was definitely not like anything I've ever felt before- It was localized but yet my whole leg was sore and swollen.  You can pop in your urgent care for a quick check in if you're really concerned about it.
