Low VOC paint..

I bought low voc paint for my daughter's room and am just getting around to painting it. Would you feel safe painting with it? (Windows open/fans on, of course). Or would you buy one of those masks to wear?

  • definitely ventilate the room and wear a mask...just to be on the safe side!

    Definitely all of the above.

Also be careful, while the paint is low VOC the colors most likely aren't so be extra careful if you have some very deep colors. Some companies are working on that but as far as I know it's not quite out on the open market yet. (sorry I used to sell paint, I had to nerd out on that one! :P)

  • You're fine to paint with it. With the windows open I wouldn't even worry about needing a mask if it's not a super tiny room.

We used it on DD room and there was literally no smell to it at all. We actually use low VOC paint every time now b/c it was so nice to not have the "paint" smell lingering around for days.
