Our first weekend getaway without DS

I'm about to start packing for our first trip away from DS! Ahhh - so much to do and also a little bummed about missing Jonny for 4 days.

My BFF (known her 10 years) and her boyfriend moved to Arizona last year (we are in N.Cali) for school/work. So we are going out to visit them for a long weekend - leaving Friday and coming back Monday. We are going to a baseball game and I think the boys are going to go to a shooting range (both former military and enjoy their guns). Maybe BFF and I will go get mani/pedi's or something like that.

It's going to be nice to have a break and hang out with another couple w/o kids, sleep in and not have our days revolve around nap/bedtime schedules. And we've left Jonny many time overnight for date nights, etc. But never for 3 nights in a row! He's splitting the time between IL's and my parents house. So he'll be in really good hands and is very comfortable both places...but man, I'm going to miss the little guy!

Well - off to go pack. Gotta get stuff together for me and DH, DS and the dog!

Have fun! DH and I just had a night away (another free hotel stay for me for work!) and DS was with family overnight... so DH and I had a chance to "reconnect" a few times during our stay... though we didn't realize that there was turn-down service 2 hours after we checked in. We had gone to the pool and the poor housekeeper had to pick up our discarded clothing off the floor when she did the turn-down. We got back and were so embarrassed thinking of her picking up lingerie and underwear. Oops!

Hopefully your weekend will be embarrassment-free!

That's great. Have fun! I've never spent the night away from hazel, I don't think I could do it. Her first sleepover is going to be a rough time for me.
