Birthday Theme Question

Does it seem weird to have a strawberry themed birthday party in October...or am I way over-thinking this? I'm kind of loving this idea, but it seems so summery. DD is still too little to really care about the "theme", but I've done fall type things in the past (pumpkins, owls) and I'm ready to go a different direction.

I'm basically picturing red, pink, and blue colors and strawberry themed food (strawberry lemonade, strawberry spinach salad, desserts, etc.) I also thought it would be fun for the kids to make their own chocolate covered strawberries.

The biggest drawback that I can see is that strawberries will probably be more expensive in October because they will be out of season.

Thoughts?

(I realize it's crazy early to even be thinking about this, but I'm about to go on maternity leave for the birth of my second daughter and I'm hoping to get some planning/DIY stuff done during those months "off".)
