I purchased my Bonavita crib January of 2009, for my first baby. I was told that all cribs ( mine is not drop down) were recalled for new standards... ( hardware issues?) Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks!
Drop sides were the only ones recalled. As of June or July of 2010, I think, new standards for hardware went into effect and only cribs that meet those standards can be sold. Cribs purchased before that date that are not drop side are still safe to use.

There were several new standards set in place. The ones I recall (aside from them not manufacturing drop sides) was there was a change in width between slats and the amount of testing a frame goes through (more rigourous testing). I believe there were 1-2 other standard, but I can't think of them right now.
