Pregnant after IF

When did your morning sickness start?

Hi ladies,

I am 5 weeks pregnant today- and (knocking on every piece of wood around me) haven't had any morning sickness or nausea yet.

A couple questions for you:

*When did your morning sickness start?

*How long did it last?

*What did you find gave you relief (if anything?)

*Did your m/s include vomiting or was it just nausea?

 Thanks!

Re: When did your morning sickness start?

  • *It started on Monday at 12dpo, LOL. It was basically, "DH! My test was positive! GAGGGGG"

*No clue how long it's going to last.

*Cold foods, carbs, ginger ale/anything carbonated are all helping. Jolly Ranchers and Goldfish crackers need to be bought in bulk, too.  I also started the Unisom/B6 cocktail already. If it doesn't help with the m/s, at least I am sleeping better and getting some extra vitamins. I feel like it's lessening the symptoms at least a bit - I start getting sick again at about 8:45 or 9pm if I don't take them on time.

*No vomiting yet, knock on wood. Dry heaving and gagging for sure though.

  • Just started today at 4 week, 4 days! Just some mild nausea, no vomiting yet. I was slightly excited about it even thigh it feels bad! ;)

  • *When did your morning sickness start? Mine started around week 5 or 6

*How long did it last? It is just starting to ease up a bit for me and I am 12 weeks.

*What did you find gave you relief (if anything?) I had a number of tricks that helped a little, although none took it away completely. The Preggie Drops helped, Ginger Ale, really cold water, saltines, gum and peppermint tea. I finally broke down three weeks ago and got Zofran and it has really really helped!

*Did your m/s include vomiting or was it just nausea? **Knock on wood** I haven't thrown up yet. There were a couple really close calls though. I have been nauseous 24/7 for basically the past month and a half. Up until a few days ago I have eaten nothing but crackers, bagels, pasta, bananas, and protein shakes for a month.

  • When did your morning sickness start? It started around 6.5 weeks as just nausea and really got bad at 8 weeks when the vomiting and all day nausea kicked in.

*How long did it last?  It is still going on (I'm 12 weeks)

*What did you find gave you relief (if anything?) Seabands, acupuncture and 1/2 unisom w/ B6 before bedtime help a little, but it's still pretty bad some days. Also, eating small, bland meals after 10am helps me.  My nausea is really bad in the AM so nothing stays down even liquids.

*Did your m/s include vomiting or was it just nausea? Nausea and vomiting.

I hope you don't get it bad! GL!

  • *When did your morning sickness start? nausea the whole time, but actual vomiting starting 10-12 weeks

*How long did it last? until into 3rd tri

*What did you find gave you relief (if anything?) nothing really...except i had to drink or eat something as soon as i opened my eyes in the am, but there was no guarantee it'd stay down lol

*Did your m/s include vomiting or was it just nausea? vomiting too, sometimes all day, and even still deep into 3rd tri, i'm still waking up with nausea and sometimes still vomit

  • Mine started at 6 weeks and is still going.  The only difference is that in the 1st tri I would vomit randomly and felt sick most of the day.  Now, I typically vomit every time I brush my teeth and feel pretty good the rest of the day.  I didn't take anything for it, but eating crackers all day got me through the 1st tri.

  • 7-ish weeks is when mine started, and it subsided (almost) completely right around 13-14 weeks. I kept expecting it to be gone before that, and it was sooo hard to not know when it was going to stop :(

I tried ginger things (not sure that it actually helped), cold foods, and if I had something hot, it couldn't be mixed with something cold (like a burrito with cold lettuce and hot beans/meat - gag!), eating ALL THE TIME, getting my husband to bring me breakfast in bed (cereal)

I only had nausea, but was still totally miserable. There's almost nothing I hate more than being nauseous.

  • *When did your morning sickness start? around 5 weeks

*How long did it last? til 8 weeks more so and less so until 13 weeks.

*What did you find gave you relief (if anything?)  eating small amounts through out the day.

*Did your m/s include vomiting or was it just nausea?  I was only nauseous, but felt very close to vomiting.  I had a stomach bug around 11 weeks where I vomited about 10 times (but that was un related to the pg)

I feel like it is totally different even for the same person for a different pregnancy (sometimes).

With ds I was NEVER sick at all.  This time, whole different story.  I was sure I was having a girl since it was so different that ds but nope....another boy!

    A couple questions for you:

*When did your morning sickness start? Around 5 weeks

*How long did it last? Until about a few weeks ago. I still have to take medicine every once in a while.

*What did you find gave you relief (if anything?) A combination of Zofran and Phenogren, on top of taking Unisom at night and switching from prenatals to regular vitamins. I was very sick. Oh..and B50 vitamins

*Did your m/s include vomiting or was it just nausea? All of the above. I couldn't keep anything down, which is why I ended up on the meds.

     Thanks!

Don't let that freak you out though. Everybody is different!

  • *When did your morning sickness start? Coincedentally it was right after I got off the prometrium, around 10 weeks.

*How long did it last? Almost 8 weeks.

*What did you find gave you relief (if anything?) I was seeing an acupuncturist weekly first tri but my m/s was in the evening until the time I went to bed.
I tried zofran (which I only used for 3 days), ginger tea (which seemed to make me more nauseous), seabands, ginger candy.

*Did your m/s include vomiting or was it just nausea? Both! And thank goodness it's subsided but really foul smells will send me into a gagging and dry heaving fit.

*When did your morning sickness start?  Right at about 6 weeks.

*How long did it last?  It was the worst for the first few weeks, but improved the closer I got to 2nd tri.  I don't have any morning sickness now.

*What did you find gave you relief (if anything?)  Constantly keeping something in my stomach, suck on candies, ginger ale, lots of water, bland carbs.

*Did your m/s include vomiting or was it just nausea?  Luckily, just nausea.

  • Started during week 6.

Lasted until um...week 17-18 I think? By 20 weeks I felt much better.

Not much I tried helped...little snacks throughout the day, ginger ale, etc. Basically just tried to get myself through it!

Knock on wood, never actually got sick. Just awful nausea and a severe aversion to anything chicken related...I couldn't stand the smell, sight, etc. Now the smell doesn't bother me but I still haven't brought myself to eat it yet because my aversion was SO strong it's now a mental thing for me! And it makes me sad because I used to eat chicken all the time!

  • I have had no morning sickness, no vomiting at all

I only felt nauseous a few times in the morning before I was able to have my snack after breakfast.

I eat breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack- pretty much something every 2-3 hrs.

  • I never got morning sickness.  I recall feeling nauseated one or two distinct instances, but that was after I hadn't eaten a big enough breakfast.  I was also on a train, commuting to work, so the motion didn't help.  Seriously, though.  I would say that I was one of those women who didn't have morning sickness.
