I have an appt on my 11wk 0day mark. i was considering moving it up a few days to the 10wk 4 day mark so we can try to hear the hb before announcing to family on easter. I was wondering if most people can hear it by then?
I was exactly that at my first appt, it took a few minutes to my OB to find it (he even asked if I was certain of my last period date, eek!) but he finally got it and it was very clear. 162
With my last pregnancy I was able to find the baby's heartbeat on my doppler right around 8 weeks, which is early, but it's easier when you know what you're listening for and know where to find it.
With all of my pregnancies, my doctor was able to find it in the office at the point you're talking about (right around 10-11 weeks).
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
I found it right around then on my home doppler (I hadn't tried any earlier). It took some hunting around, but I finally found it. I really think they will be able to find it if they know what they're doing.

I found it around 9 and a half weeks on my home doppler with my DD. It took a little bit of time though so I am unsure if the doctor would be as patient (they oftentimes won't even check till 11-12 weeks at the doctor's office because it is so hard to find that early and they don't want to stress you out!)
Hi, yes I had my first vaginal ultrasound at 8 weeks and I was able to hear the heartbeat and see the baby. You will be fine if your already at 10 weeks. Have fun. And we are planning to tell everyone on Easter weekend as well!
I just had my first appointment last week and the NP was not able to find the HB but my midwife was. She said the trick at this early is that you have to be lying completely flat whereas the NP had me slightly elevated on the table. I think if they know what they are doing, they should probably be able to find it.

i had an appointment yesterday and heard the hb for the first time. we'd noticed on various u/s that the hb was strong, we just hadn't heard it yet. but it didn't take the doctor long to find it yesterday, and that was at 10 weeks and 3 days.
Re: Did anyone hear the hb on doppler at 10wks 4 days or earlier?

This Cluttered Life
Last time, we couldn't catch DD's heartbeat even at our 12wk appointment. We had to wait until 16wks to hear it.
But, I do know, that often times fetal positioning can have an impact on whether you can hear it too.
