Crib that doesn't convert to toddler bed?

All of this crib talk on the board lately made me want to go start searching for one myself - I guess it's about time.

Anyone know where I can get a nice one that does not convert to a toddler bed?  I don't really have a need for that and I prefer items that only perform one task.

  • I have heard a lot of people mention that Ikea has cribs that do not convert, and are resonable in price.

  • Not sure if you know, but just because a crib has the potential to convert doesn't mean you need to do it.  My crib is convertible, but I didn't buy the convertible set (it's an add on item).  Mine is from BRU.
  • Ours is convertible, it was $199, fantastic build. It came with the toddler rail, etc. We didn't have to use it, but you'll likely find the same priced non convertible crib.

  • you don't have to use the convertable feature.  we have a convertable crib but don't intend to use it as we hope to have another baby in it before then.  I think IKEA has cheaper cribs that BRU if that is a concern.  GL

  • Thanks for all the advice.  I'm not overly concerned about saving money with getting one that doesn't convert.  I juts find that whenever I buy a product that should do more than one thing, it seems like it's lesser quality than if I had just purchased 2 seperate items- even if it costs more that way.

    Thanks for your hlep though!

  • If you aren't concerned about price, check out these:

They have 4 models that do not convert. Also check out Pottery Barn, they have a few non convertible options.

This. I think the one that doesn't convert is $69.99! Great price and a good brand.

Ikea Sniglar? That one actually does convert, but it is real wood, affordable, and low profile so we adore it! We use our crib as a side-car on our bed, so the stability with only three sides is a huge plus in our book, even though we have no interest in a toddler bed.

I was going to suggest this.
Oh, Pottery Barn. Your beautiful cribs make me look at my empty wallet and weep.
