What's your supplement regimen?

Farmerlynda's post below got me thinking more about a vitamin/supplement regimen.  After 2 MTX shots, I'll be waiting until June/July before moving into IUI #3 and I would like to change up my current regimen.  Here's my questions - what is your vitamin/supplement routine and what are the dosages?

I guess I keep things pretty simple.

    PNV

    Calcium 1200mg daily

    Vitamin D 50,000 units once a week

After this script for the vit D is done I am switching to a calcium/vit d combo. I was taking folic acid 1 mg daily in addition to the PNV but it gave me crippling headaches so that was cut from the list!

  • It depends on your dx, and supplements targeted to help one issue can be really bad for another, so know what they're for and ask your RE, DHEA in particular.

Interesting, I was told to stay on DHEA and I tried the Melatonin thing but my RE was not into it. I keep it now for when I travel for work to get to sleep for the first few nights!

  • I definitely wasn't asking for a RX. Just wanted to get an idea of the different regimens you guys had.  Since I'm out of the game for a few months, I just wanted to get an idea of what to ask my RE about.  I'll be seeing him tomorrow hopefully my last beta test and asking him about what I can do in the meantime.

  • My dx is in my siggy.  My daily regimen is:

    Synthroid

    Vitamin C 500mg

    L-Arginine 1000mg (twice a day)

    CoQ10 200mg (3 times a day)

    Inositol 1000mg (twice a day)

    Baby Aspirin

    Vitamin E 200IU

DHEA 25mg (will probably be increasing to twice a day soon)

    Pycnogenol 100mg

    Vitamin B-6 100mg

    Omega 3 (EPA/DHA combined minimum of 500mg)

    DH is on:

    Vitamin C 500mg

    CoQ10 200mg

    Vitamin B-6 100mg

    Vitamin B-12 500mcg

    Dong Quai 530mg

    Maca 500mg

    L-Carnitine 1000mg

    Vitamin E 200IU

    Acetyl L-Carnitine 500mg

    Selenium 100 mcg

    Zinc 30mg

    Folic Acid 800mcg

    Clomid 17.5mg

Like PP said, check with your RE.  Mine recommended most everything I'm taking and we cleared everything with our Uro too.  For DH, we mostly took everything that was in Fertility Blend/Fertil Aid/ProXeed and bought it all individually.  Doing it that way allows us to play with the amounts he actually gets since each varies.  HTH or at least a little food for thought.

I hope that you did not take that that was what I was saying, just trying to caveat my answer in case readers took it as gospel.

As I said, we have the same RE so at least you know that he is cool for trying supps. A tip, ask the office for what they can sell as they sell high quality supps and I felt HE was more into what the girls in the office had rather than me shopping at Whole Foods. GL tomorrow!

Definitely didn't take it that way.  Just wanted to clarify.  I'll be sure to ask that tomorrow.  Hadn't thought about asking what they sell so that's great to know.
