About 2 weeks ago we started giving DS actual food to try out. He loves celery and carrots to chew on. He hates anything steamed. We also tried bananas and he isn't a fan. He won't put puffs, cheerios, wagon wheels, mum mums, etc anywhere near his mouth. Now he's pretty much completely stopped eating baby food. He won't consider yogurt, rice cereal or oatmeal anymore either. Should I be replacing these meals with bottles? He's losing attention quickly with bottles too. I just don't want to try to keep feeding him solids with no success and then teach him that he'll just get a bottle anyway. What do you guys think?
TIA!
Re: Serious Eating Issues
At this stage...he's just a baby either he eats it or he doesn't. Food is for fun so let him play and try and then leave it be. He'll make the connection eventually.
As for the bottles, I wouldn't add more than the usual because there's not a ton of calories in solids no matter the amount he's eating. I wouldn't take away bottles so eats either. It never works that way. Basically if he's hungry feed him.
Is he getting teeth? My LO goes through phases where she doesn't want to eat much because her teeth hurt.
